S & I recently celebrated our 4y anniversary at the new French restaurant in GP. Service was excellent, but food was just okay. We’ve definitely have had better French food in the city: here and here. Though the food was just, eh…I’d still like to visit for brunch. But it is a bit too small for my exploratory toddler.
Thinking of the greater good, or something like that, I suggested that we forego individual gifts (shame on me!) and use our moolah to buy something for the house. Not much, but we got a un-intrusive parsons console table for our living room. Yay!
Last weekend we made our trek down south to Pastorino’s pumpkin patch. Driving down 1, S & I remembered that a “best sandwich” from HMB was featured on the Today show recently. After looking it up on gf#2 (aka iPhone), we found that the best lobster roll was at Sam’s. Lobster rolls and Arnold Palmers were ordered (chicken strips for Mads). At the price they were listed at, it better be one heck of a lobster roll. I was happy to find that the lobster wasn’t drenched in mayo – but sauteed in olive oil, butter with celery and green peppers (I think). Quite delicious, but very filling. This is a nice treat to take out of towners. Fortunately it was a beautiful & clear day which yielded fabulous views!
I finally jumped on the facebook bandwagon. It’s great fun and a great distraction at work! It’s crazy how many people I’ve “re-connected” with from high school.
Reincarnation wish of the day: a member of the Queen’s court (that doesn’t get killed, perferably) in Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette – the dresses were to die for! (No pun intended.)
