Saturday night ended up being a girl’s night out. I met D & N at a relatively new restaurant downtown/t-loin. I was a bit early, so I sat at the bar and asked the bartender what he recommended (since they were out of peach “ice tea”) and I ended up sipping guzzling down a grapefruit gimlet. One word: Dee-lish! I was afraid it was going to overly vodka-y, but it wasn’t. I should have ordered another. Anyhow, Farmer Brown is self-described as “farm-fresh soul-food”, so you know the menu is going to look tasty. Fried Chicken, Mac&Cheese, Gumbo, Po’Boys, Pecan Pie, Ribs, Biscuits, Meatloaf…I’m getting hungry again just thinking about it.Service was quick, so we made it to the Curran with plenty of time. I had bought tickets to Jersey Boys (partly the reason it ended up being a girl’s night, S doesn’t do musicals AND I found two friends that hadn’t seen it yet!). What a F-U-N musical! It was hard to not sing along – but that didn’t stop some people sitting behind us (grr!) If you haven’t seen it yet, better get moving…
