Random bits of life

…the summer cold from heck is gone. Of course, by saying that I’ve jinxed myself and when I pick up Mads tonight she will have caught another cold.

…the Sopranos is over. Sniff, sniff. At least we’re not tied to the tele Sunday nights now.

Sent packing

Friday night, after dinner, Mads packed up and left. Grandma Em graciously offered to watch her Friday night while S & I went to see a movie. The best part was, we didn’t have to pick her up until Saturday!!! We had a baby-free night, more importantly, a baby-free morning! It was nice to wake up on my own and not a slave to Mads’ internal clock on a Saturday. Mads had a good time, she was fed, she played, all was good. When we did stop by to drop off some food, she could’ve cared less that we were there. She was like, “eh, good to see you…I’ve got to go play now…late.” Well then.

New construction envy

Saturday night, S & I had dinner at our friend’s N&B new condo in Duboce Triangle. I’ve got new construction envy. I love my home, but when everything is brand spanking new – it’s…ahhh. I also got to see my dear friends D&A who are moving out to Minneapolis in two weeks. I’m sad to see them leave, that our girls won’t be able to grow up together and that Lucie is losing her boyfriend, Hershel. I wish them the best and we’ll be out to visit, just not in the Winter.

First Father’s Day

I think S had a nice first father’s day, at least that what he’s telling me. We Skyped with his parents/family and opened cards and gifts in the morning. Then we met my mom and bro for brunch here on the Embarcadero. Definitely coming here again – food was great (local and/or organic), reasonably priced, and a fab location. Plus it was great for kids! (I guess I have to start looking for that criteria now.) We then headed to Chrissy Field where S could take his gift for a test flight. My mom and I took Mads for a walk to the Warming Hut/Let’s Be Frank stand while S and R were trying get the kite airborne. As soon as we got home we all three napped.

So here’s this month’s Mads-Lucie picture
