Random bits of life

Yay for Massachusetts! The first state in the US to allow gay marriages. One would think that CA would be right on MA’s coattails…

Went house hunting again yesterday. Found two cute homes – one with views and one two blocks from the beach. One home that we visited had sweeping views of Glen Canyon and the East Bay. Truly breathtaking! However, as I stepped onto the balcony – there was a small sign that said something to the effect of “Balcony was constructed with a slight downward slope to allow water runoff.” Umm, ya. Should have left the house as soon as I had read that. Doesn’t the small space between the slats of wood allow for water runoff? I suppose not. Cross that house off the list. And to supplement the sloped (totally) unsafe balcony, we visited a house that was seriously built crooked! (Probably why it was dirt cheap!) The whole house sloped a little to the west. The showing agent blamed it on the drunken Irishmen who most likely built the home.

Our friends, Anu & Iran got married this past Saturday. A quaint and beautiful ceremony in the Rose Garden in GG Park and a quaint and fun reception at the Swedish-American hall in SF. They are probably now en route to Iceland for their 2 week honeymoon. Much love and luck to them both.
