In my holiday shopping jaunts, I’ve been receiving numerous comments on my purse of the moment…the Gwen Stefani for L.A.M.B. small hella hobo Le Sportsac purse.
“I see that you were one of the lucky ones to buy the purse when it was available!”
“You should hold on to it, everybody is looking for one and she’s not making them anymore.”
Who thought that a little purse that I bought 2 years ago before my trip to the big island would be in such demand? The best part (for me, at least) is that these purses are selling for 3-4x the original price on eBay!
Work sucks…
So with what seems like monthly resignations from my department, I flat-out asked for an office. I mean, I have been here 5 years and if they can’t pay me industry standard, at least sweeten the deal for me.
Today I got a big ol’ bitch slap across the face – instead of offering me the empty office, I was offered a bigger cubicle.
Are we kidding?!
White Elephant…gone too far
Okay, so my family’s xmas get-together was this past Saturday. Because there are so many of us, we’ve started doing the Secret Santa thing and added a White Elephant gift exchange. Last year, there were decent gifts – gifts that were worth stealing: lottery tickets, gift cards, etc. It was coming close to the start of the party and Frenchy still didn’t have his white elephant gift. Let’s just say that what he ended up with was a saucisse and 2 crab apples – you can do the math. And with this less than $10 gift, he had opened the floodgates for this year’s exchange. Now, remember, this is my family – aunts, uncles, cousins – getting these gifts! Highlights included: my mom’s old Christmas tree sweater from Talbot’s, a whip (!), Spank the Monkey card game, and a jelly bean dispenser shaped as a sheep and the “brown” jellybeans being dispensed from the sheep’s ass. There were some sought after gifts – but for the most part it was one huge laugh fest!
She’s back!
We capped off this past weekend with our friend Amanda who is back from Lesotho! She showed us some amazing stories & pictures from Africa and we treated her to her first Mexican meal in 2 years! at La Corneta.
