at this rate, i could start a separate blog for crappy concert pix since my mophone is SO good at it!
these were taken at the shoreline amphitheatre in mountain view this past friday. ’twas a fantastic evening with will, jon, chris and guy (also known collectively as Coldplay). it was a such a great show i’d honestly pay to see them perform live again! (we could’ve done without the opening act however.) S was pretty impressed with the guitarist’s ability and how the drummer was just banging the crap out of the drum set – a good banging, that is. they performed little from their new album, a lot from their previous albums, and paid a tribute to Johnny Cash both by performing a song intended to be recorded with him and their rendition of Ring of Fire, which, bless their english hearts, wasn’t quite the same as the original.
walking through the parking lot, it was evident that coldplay has reached mainstream – SUVs, BMWs and the occasional Porsche were abound. (We had taken the Golf to the concert.) on the other hand, now that they are so mainstream, i’m glad that they’re using their popularity to raise awareness on fair trade and promote the one campaign.
