S + I made a trip out to NYC for a long weekend. S was there for business Thursday and Friday; I was there for the shopping. (Isn’t that always the case?)
It was Sylvain’s first time to NYC, my third. (We didn’t catch any shows, though Spamalot looked like it would be lots of fun!)
Highlights included:
*Constant jaw dropping at Bergdorf with my mom’s friend Marie
*Shopping on 5th, Park and Madison Avenues
*Being bombarded by perfume / cologne boys and girls to try Gucci Envy, SJP’s new scent and Courduroy at Macy’s and Bloomies
*Dinner with S and his coworkers at Nonna in the UWS: great Italian eats, great company, lots of wine and lots of limoncello make for a F-U-N evening
*Catching a jazz band at Dizzy’s at the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle
*Rockefeller Center, coffee beans at Dean & Deluca, Bryant Park and Grand Central Station
*Hanging out in Washington Square
*Strolling thru the Village / NYU and more shopping in SoHo
*Fabulous Korean food in Little Italy
*Even more fabulous Chocolate and Hazelnut gelato in Little Italy and drooling over the various biscottis and cannolis in the pastry shops
*A Bagel Sunday brunch in the Park
*Visit to the WTC site – way intense, I actually shed a tear or two
*Chilling in Battery Park city with views of Lady Liberty
*Hot Pastrami sandwiches at Carnegie Deli
Whew! That was a lot for the long weekend. (Alas, no celebrity sightings this time.) All this in 90+ degree and humid weather – ugh. We’re glad to be home.
