Random bits of life

If you’ve been living under a rock the past few months, Episode 3 of the Star Wars saga opened today. (Yesterday in France.) I’ve been reading that a lot of small companies have footed the bill for a company field trip to see “Revenge of the Sith.”

My favorite quote so far is, “‘It speaks to our culture. It’s the benefit of not working at a giant monolithic — dare I say ‘Imperial’ — type company,’ he said, referring to the Empire in the “Star Wars” films.'”

S has branded me a Star Wars freak. I, naturally, have to disagree with him. Yes, I enjoy watching the films, especially on a rainy day or when I’m home, sick, (I can Tivo All My Children now – I don’t, but that option is open to me) and, yes, I did ask for episodes 4-6 for Christmas. However, I haven’t taken the day off to see the movie, I do not dress up as Princess Leia at Halloween or at any other time (I did have C3PO and R2D2 underoos as kid, though) and I have never camped out to buy tickets. I admit that I did see a midnight showing of Episode 1 with my friend Christian – who has taken today off to see the 9am showing of Episode 3 in the Valley.

When we will see this movie? Probably like the other sane people – when the crowds die down. Who knows when that will be though.
