I know I’ve written about this before – but living in California is great! It’s February and while the eastside is waiting to get slammed with one hell of a winter storm…us peeps here in sunny CA are enjoying 70+ degree weather and of course, I had to get my obilgatory Jack-in-the-Box milkshake – it was Oreo cookie, this time around. 🙂
Last weekend news
So last weekend was a busy one…Friday night, my mom’s friend K, brought her Labradoodle, Cooper for a playdate with Lucie. Like a poodle, he was very reserved, doing his own thing. Of course, Lucie didn’t like that at all! She would start teasing him with toys and would try to get him to start a wrestlemania session – but he wouldn’t bite. She got so frustrated she started her high-pitch barking at him. Eventually, Cooper warmed up and he and Lucie wrestled, played tug o’war and chased tennis balls in the hallway.
Saturday evening was Adam & Shelley’s wedding. It was a lovely ceremony and fun reception at the Marine’s Memorial Club. But for some reason, Sylvain took more pictures of him and Matt D. messing around than of the newlyweds. Luckily, since Katie and I were there, they weren’t able to utterly and completely embarass themselves… 😉
Sunday morning, I rose early to take Lucie for her 2nd playdate that weekend. It was our turn to deliver dinner to Dani and Alex (since they are new parents, a friend of theirs was nice enough to persuade & organize their friends to help out with meals – takeout or homemade – during the week…i can imagine that alone is a load off for new parents). (Sylvain ended up staying at home, sleeping.) Since it was so early, I also brought coffee, croissants, pain de chocolate and berry scones. (I know, I’m so nice!) 😉 Lucie & Hershel were so excited to see each other – we had to corral them in the driveway. After Dani got a handle on the baby, we took them to the schoolyard across the street for some running…of course they prefered to drink muddy water and eat grass (nice). After we pooped them out, we headed back to the house so that Dani and I could catch up over coffee and pastries.
No superbowl for us. I think that we caught the last 10 minutes, besides all the commercials are on Google video, so why bother? I think that we went grocery shopping…I know for sure that we were at OSH for the start of the game…
This weekend – no major plans…family dinner tonight and smaller family dinner tomorrow. I feel stuffed already. 🙁 I do think that we’re going to try and see The Pink Panther, despite the awful review. It just looks SO funny. I’m sure it won’t compare to the originals, but Jean Reno in a comedy? How does it get better than that?
